Ruth Lera

Ruth Lera was born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up as a member of Holy Blossom Synagogue. Religious teachings and the exploration of spiritual truth have been part of her whole life. In Hebrew school, Ruth was taught about the morals, ethics, and traditions of the Jewish practice and she had a Bat Mitzvah at 12 years old.

When Ruth was 18 years old, she traveled to Thailand as part of a Canada World Youth Exchange. There, she discovered the teachings of the Buddha and her life changed. Ruth has never been a practicing Buddhist, but the Buddha’s teachings are a major inspiration. She believes in a Universal spiritual truth for all, despite your religion or ethnicity.

The same year, Ruth returned from Thailand she took a one-way flight to the Yukon and mostly has called it home since. Ruth has home-birthed, homesteaded, meditated, studied healing modalities, and dedicated herself to community and service for all of her adult life. Ultimately, she has placed herself in downtown Whitehorse with her kids and dog Spots where she writes, teaches, works within the energy to help others, gardens, and ponders existence.

Healing is a journey inwards. But that doesn’t mean that you have to do it alone.
